Long time no post

Haha! I've been too busy on Facebook... in fact, most my my notes on Facebook are analogous to my blog entries. I should find time to post them here. Anyway, this is my latest acquisition... Tokidoki x Onitsuka Tiger!

New Year resolutions I will break

Everyone is making new year resolutions right now, so I thought I'd do up a list of new year resolutions that is pretty much meaningless and that I will never achieve. Hahaha....

1. I will be more patient.
2. I will stop bitching.
3. I will stop using a spoon to eat peanut butter.
4. I will stop eating chocolate.
5. I will stop correcting people's english.
6. I will start working really hard.
7. I will cut my hair really short.
8. I will stop spending money.
9. I will stop being judgmental.
10. I will stop collecting dolls.

Muahahahah I almost fell off my chair when I made the list. Hahahahah!

Thoughts and feelings

As the year and my two weeks' holiday draws to a close, I keep thinking about many things, to the point where I suddenly feel depressed. I think I feel depressed cos my holiday is coming to an end and I spent 5 days of those two weeks nursing a horrible illness that I have never gotten in such magnitude. And I am still coughing and having a throat that hurts like a bitch.

And my dolly friend is leaving for the US soon. Good part is, my Coach purchases and dolly purchases 终于有着洛了！The bad part is, there will be no one for me to call during office hours when I need to bitch for 5 seconds (or maybe more) and to share dolly news etc. It is only for one year though, next X'mas 阿桃的妈妈 will be back in SG :)

Wish my holiday can continue on and on but I know that will not be possible, I will have to start work soon. Just wish soon would not be THAT soon. Haha!

What have I achieved this year? Other than infuriating traders and annoying my family and co-workers? Hmmm hardly anything else :-p I am not a very ambitious person where work is concerned, so I hardly ever set targets for myself. I would rather succeed in life in other ways. Different people have different ways of achieving fulfillment in life, and mine is quite simple: to be happy.

What makes me happy?
- The doorbell ringing and my parcel being delivered.
- Being able to have uninterrupted sleep till the morning when I wake up on my own.
- Receiving emails/calls etc asking how I am :)
- Being loved/being in people's thoughts in a pleasant way.
- People asking me things/confiding in me because they trust me.
- Making people around me happy.
- Lying in bed watching one movie after another in high-definition.
- Reading fashion magazines one after another and remembering the outfits celebs wear to premieres.
- Being in tip top shape/health.
- Everyone around me being in tip top shape/health.
- World peace. This one is less important to me, but should be important to everyone.

See? Not everything in my list has to do with $$$$$$$ de ok! There's no LV/Prada/Gucci/Burberry Black Label in the list! Those are tangible, transient things in life. They make you happy, but they don't keep you happy. You need to live a happy life before you can be considered happy.

Do not save me!

The fever I've had in the past four days set me thinking... if my fever got so bad that I lose consciousness or my brain gets damaged from it, what do I want the people around me to do? Try their best to resuscitate me? Or just let me go?

I think I prefer them to just let me go if the chances are pretty high that I will not regain consciousness. I don't even need 'beyond reasonable doubt'. Cos I watched the show on TV which Christopher Lee hosted abt the girl who had fever and fits and a viral infection that affected her brain... she is totally dependent on people for all of her basic needs etc. I mean, I admire the family's courage to keep going and not losing hope, but I told my mum the other day when I was having fever that if it ever came to that situation, just let me go. Do not waste time and money trying to keep me or a shell of me alive.

She said I never write a will and there are no witness leh. But I wrote a note here and all of you read it so all of you can be my witness :D

My complexion is none of your business?

So, I was going to groom my brows yesterday in anticipation for Annie's wedding, because I don't want two gargantuan caterpillars framing my face when I am there. I dropped by Browhaus cos I signed a package with them for threading.

When I reached there, this lady (I assume she is from China from her accent) attended to me. Whilst she was yanking away at my hirsute and unruly brows, she commented that I have (had, I extracted it haha) a pimple above my brow. I said ok I'll get rid of it when I am home. For a while she said nothing more, then out of a sudden she handed me a mirror and let it rip! Started saying how bad my complexion is, how I have shit stuck in my pores etc. then started asking me what sort of cleanser I was using... I seriously thought she was being concerned, until she started saying she has a good cleaner etc for me.

From there I realised that she was pimping her goods. How could I be so dense and not see through the sales technique at the first stage??? Dammit! I told her my skin is breaking out due to stress, then she retorted that I should not make excuses for my sloppy skincare regime. Chao chee bye!!!!!! I was fuming inside but my brows were at her mercy, so I just smiled and pretended to be nice. I am never nice, just so you know. -_-

Anyway, she did a good job with the brows, but I was 'inspired' enough by her sales technique that I decided to drop her management a letter. And here is how it goes:

"Hello,

Today, I was at one of your outlets in the town area for brow threading. The lady who threaded my brows was good at what she is doing, but she was hardselling your facial products.

Within 15 minutes, I heard that my complexion was bad at least 5 times. I understand that she is trying to sell her facial cleanser that is made with natural botanical (which botanical product is not natural? hmmm...) extracts etc etc that can supposedly improve my skin condition... but I feel that is absolutely no need to let me know that my complexion is no good cos I am living with it on a daily basis so I would know.

If a facial product really can solve my skin problems then it would be a miracle. But you and I both know that ain't going to happen, so maybe your staff can improve on their selling technique with a different angle... the 'breaking down the self esteem' method might not work for everyone.

I do not want to name anyone because I don't want the staff to get into trouble, and in this trying economic situation, I do not want to contribute adversely to anybody's gainful employment.

Random useful useless information

Recently I encountered a lot of silly incidents that made me find out about a lot of information. I will just list them down, you may find them useful someday :)

The cash deposit machines only accept $5 as the smallest note. $2 is not accepted. $100 is the biggest note that they accept, $1000 is not accepted.

If you rip your fingernail from the nail bed, it will bleed and be displaced, but eventually it will grow back and form the natural nail line. It may take up to two weeks though.

You can open a postal savings account if you are a visitor in Japan. But you cannot use it to pay for your Yahoo! Japan auctions because they don't have bank transfer agreement with the rest of the banks in Japan. :-(

A friend was asking why we cannot be richer. I find that it is a paradox... when you are not rich, you have relatively more time to yourself, and therefore you will want money to enjoy yourself. So you find a better paying job. But that will usually mean you have to put in extra hours in the office. So yes, you are earning more money, but you don't have time to enjoy the money anymore. What the hell?

If you have a UOB Visa card and you want to send parcels overseas at Singpost, make sure they give you 10% discount!

Door 14 from Novena MRT station will successfully get you to the exact point where the elevator is when you reach Clementi MRT station.

Bus 961 goes from Bukit Timah Shopping Centre to People's Park.

Bus 175 goes to Depot Road and Great World City.

Bus 188 Goes to IMM direct and Choa Chu Kang. But it takes about 45 minutes to reach CCK from AYE.

The counterpart for Singpost in Netherlands is GLS Netherlands, not TNT Post. Don't go calling TNT Post in Netherlands for help if you have an undelivered parcel, cos they are entirely useless and don't even tell you that they don't handle mails and parcels from Singpost. Fucktards.

Fastest way back from Novena to West Coast is to take CTE and then AYE. BKE/PIE cost much much more.
